                        Overview
It is vital that learning programmes provide aspiration and go beyond the breadth and depth of the national curriculum. Long and medium term subject planning must map out the declarative, procedural and conditional knowledge and skills that pupils will gain at each stage, particularly disadvantaged pupils and those pupils with SEND.
Learning programmes must also contain the cultural capital that pupils need to succeed in life, and the order, format and way in which this happens.
Subject reviews (deep dives) can:
- support subject and faculty leaders in securing consistency with curriculum intent and implementation
 - evaluate the extent to which there are agreed principles and approaches to planning, assessing and promoting inclusion
 - identify areas to develop in order to ensure an ambitious provision for all children that goes beyond the national curriculum
