Day rate of £718 per day.
What's included?
We offer a range of school improvement services that can be tailored to meet the needs of all schools, academies, and Trusts.
Our leadership and management advisers can act as a strategic point of contact for your school or academy, federation or Trust. They work with Headteachers, CEOS, Chairs of Governors or Trustees.
Core principles – school improvement
Our advisers base their work on the core principles of school improvement, taken from M. Fullan. These are:
- Focus systematically on the priority for improvement that is likely to have the greatest impact on teaching and learning. To have a substantial impact on teaching and learning keep plans simple and ensure that you concentrate sustained effort on a core objective
- Base all improvement activity on evidence. Use evidence to inform decisions and identify priorities for improvement and goals for teachers and learners, through a rigorous process of audit, monitoring, evaluation and targeting
- Build collective ownership through leadership development. It is important that senior leaders shape the processes and structures for improvement, and where necessary, develop their own skills in managing
- Create time for staff to learn together, to make performance more consistent and effective across the school. Create time and opportunities for teachers and other staff to work together, to share good practice, see it in other settings, hone their knowledge and skills, and develop their confidence in different ways of teaching
- Embed the development work throughout the school’s systems and practices. Reinforce successful development work by making changes elsewhere in the school to spread its impact and make the improvement process self-sustaining
- Collaborate with other organisations. Collaborate with other partners and professionals to widen the vision, sharpen skills and exchange best practice. This grows the capacity to keep improving
