The aim of this guidance is to support schools to deliver Family SEAL workshops as part of the whole-school SEAL approach. It provides professionals with the structure and relevant support materials needed to deliver training for parents and carers, in order to support them to gain a deeper understanding of social and emotional skills and how these support their child’s well-being and attitude to learning.
The guidance offers structured 60-90 minute workshops that make direct links to the skills, knowledge and understanding taught within each SEAL theme. The Family SEAL Guidance has been piloted and developed in partnership with Hackney Schools. It builds on the DfE Family SEAL materials included in the SEAL curriculum.
