This guide enables Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) lead, class teachers and pupils to reflect on the learning taking place in SEAL lessons and throughout the curriculum.
This unique resource provides teachers with assessment materials to assess key SEAL learning outcomes, within each SEAL curriculum theme, from Years 1 to 6. The SEAL Assessment Guide and Materials will help teachers identify gaps in learning and highlight areas that need to be revisited, either with a whole class, a small group or individual pupil.
Each stage of the assessment process is clearly explained in the guidance booklet. End of theme assessments are carried out by the teachers, in partnership with pupils. Pupils are also encouraged to self-assess and reflect on their own progress. The SEAL assessments are not just a record of achievement, but also tools for informing future planning or provision.
