Fostering Changes and Nurturing Attachments is a group-based programme for foster carers of Hackney Looked After Children. The cost is per participant.
It is a weekly, 12-session programme designed specifically for foster carers who are looking after children who have attachment difficulties, emotional and behavioural difficulties and/or who have experienced trauma and abuse.
The programme is based on two highly regarded courses for foster carers – Fostering Changes and Nurturing Attachments. Both programmes focus on how to improve relationships and manage difficult behaviour. The BAAF Fostering Changes programme focuses on positive behaviour management and discipline for children in foster care.
The Nurturing Attachments programme (developed by Dr Kim Golding) focuses on developing therapeutic parenting skills that can be used in day-to-day situations, and on promoting secure attachments. The CYPS Clinical Service programme is a combined course, which aims to develop knowledge and skills across these different areas.
Applications for places on this programme must be completed on foster carers’ behalf by their fostering agency. Block bookings will be considered for agencies wishing to book a whole group programme. Please contact us for availability and to discuss eligibility criteria prior to purchasing a place, many thanks.
